The iPhone 5 (LTE optional) arrival in Philippines is inevitable. Proof is that less than a week from now the device will set to step in your doorsteps, and both top two biggest players, Globe and Smart, are already pouring their all-out promotions for their official launches with cheapest (free) and best offer in every corner. It’s a matter of days now so better choose the right offer or plan for you, right?
Apple iPhone 5 is scheduled to become officially available on 14th of December here in Philippines. Prices for both unlock/prepaid and post paid plans have been laid out. I’m happy that under Globe and Smart, the iPhone 5 prices are reasonable. Thanks to the subsidy they’ve made.

So from which network and plan are you getting the iPhone 5? In my case, I think Smart has better offering due to the wider 4G LTE that they have deployed around the Philippines, especially in urban or metro areas. Much more is that the prices for iPhone 5 LTE on Smart are bit lower compare to Globe. But totally the price difference is not an issue if you are a Globe user.
And most importantly the LTE variant is an optional feature and even not available for the two carriers right now. So it really depends on the future flavors to come.
